Probably one of the main questions I get about destination weddings to Ireland {or a Dublin destination wedding as in this case}, is what is the weather like in X,Y or Z month? Or when is the best time to come for good weather? I always reply that there is simply no way to know. There just isn’t. When asked to suggest a good time, certainly March wouldn’t be a date I’d throw in there for planning an outdoor wedding but came Mackenzie and Derby’s wedding. That was kind of the way this whole wedding went.
Very few couples would dare plan a fully outdoor destination wedding ceremony in a Dublin city center park in March. Mackenzie and Derby would.
Who would have expected a New York City couple to do an urban wedding in Dublin? Most of my city living couples want to be in the country. Not Mackenzie and Derby.
What bride would join right in on Irish Trad session playing the bodran? And totally hold her own? Mackenzie would.
How many brides would walk her wedding party through the streets of Dublin led by a Piper {getting stopped by traffic and pedestrians for congratulations} on a Sunday afternoon? Yup. those two again!
Brideen and Declan from Simple Tapestry were wonderful and willing to follow along to catch it all for them.
It was a pretty perfect wedding to be honest and it all kicked off at Kelly’s Hotel in Dublin city center.
The first look photos saw the couple meeting in Dublin city center in Temple Bar for that first glance and a bit of fun along the way!
After the outdoor ceremony and some refreshments in the park, the couple walked all of their guests a few blocks following a Piper to O’Donoghues Pub where Mackenzie and Derby had spent time on previous trips. The walk to the pub did draw a little attention.
Following the pub stop at O’Donoghue’s, it was off to the real wedding reception at House Dublin.
Again, what a great wedding that was!
So more thanks {and thanks again!} have to go to Miriam at Spiritual Ceremonies, Clare Horgan makeup and Sian Sharkey hair, Flowers by the girls at Informal Florist and cake by The Cake Stand piper Stefan O’Reilly, House Dublin and of course again big thanks to Brideen and Declan aka Simple Tapestry for the stunning photos!
